2013-01-02Rename VMCore directory to IR.Chandler Carruth
Aside from moving the actual files, this patch only updates the build system and the source file comments under lib/... that are relevant. I'll be updating other docs and other files in smaller subsequnet commits. While I've tried to test this, but it is entirely possible that there will still be some build system fallout. Also, note that I've not changed the library name itself: libLLVMCore.a is still the library name. how to fold notionally-out-of-bounds array getelementptr indices instead of just doing these in lib/Analysis/ConstantFolding.cpp, because it can be done in a fairly general way without TargetData, and because not all constants are visited by lib/Analysis/ConstantFolding.cpp. This enables more constant folding. The constant creation gets involved, and we end up trying to recursively acquire a writer lock. The long awaited CAST patch. This introduces 12 new instructions into LLVM to replace the cast instruction. Corresponding changes throughout LLVM are provided. Move a bunch of (now) private stuff from ConstantFolding.h into ConstantFolding.cpp. This _finally_ gets us to a place where we have a sane constant folder. The rules are: 1. LLVM clients now use ConstantExpr::get* methods to fold constants. If they cannot be folded, a constantexpr is created, so these methods always return valid Constant*'s. 2. The implementation of ConstantExpr::get* uses the functions exposed by ConstantFolding.h to try to fold constants. If they cannot be folded, they should return a null pointer. 3. The implementation of ConstantFolding can do whatever it wants, and only has one client (Constants.cpp) This cuts down on the wierd dependencies, and eliminates the two interfaces.
