2013-01-09Refactor to expose RTLIB calls to targets.Tim Northover
fp128 is almost but not quite completely illegal as a type on AArch64. As a result it needs to have a register class (for argument passing mainly), but all operations need to be lowered to runtime calls. Currently there's no way for targets to do this (without duplicating code), as the relevant functions are hidden in SelectionDAG. 2013-01-02Move all of the header files which are involved in modelling the LLVM IRChandler Carruth
into their new header subdirectory: include/llvm/IR. This matches the directory structure of lib, and begins to correct a long standing point of file layout clutter in LLVM. There are still more header files to move here, but I wanted to handle them in separate commits to make tracking what files make sense at each layer easier. The only really questionable files here are the target intrinsic tablegen files. But that's a battle I'd rather not fight today. I've updated both CMake and Makefile build systems (I think, and my tests think, but I may have missed something). I've also re-sorted the includes throughout the project. Sooooo many of these had incorrect or strange main module includes. I have manually inspected all of these, and fixed the main module include to be the nearest plausible thing I could find. If you own or care about any of these source files, I encourage you to take some time and check that these edits were sensible. I can't have broken anything (I strictly added headers, and reordered them, never removed), but they may not be the headers you'd really like to identify as containing the API being implemented. Many forward declarations and missing includes were added to a header files to allow them to parse cleanly when included first. Instead of passing listener pointers to RAUW, let SelectionDAG itself keep a linked list of interested listeners. This makes it possible to have multiple listeners active at once, like RAUWUpdateListener was already doing. It also makes it possible to register listeners up the call stack without controlling all RAUW calls below. the processor keeps a return addresses stack (RAS) which stores the address and the instruction execution state of the instruction after a function-call type branch instruction. it fixes the dragonegg self-host (it looks like gcc is miscompiled). Original commit messages: Eliminate LegalizeOps' LegalizedNodes map and have it just call RAUW on every node as it legalizes them. This makes it easier to use hasOneUse() heuristics, since unneeded nodes can be removed from the DAG earlier. Make LegalizeOps visit the DAG in an operands-last order. It previously used operands-first, because LegalizeTypes has to go operands-first, and LegalizeTypes used to be part of LegalizeOps, but they're now split. The operands-last order is more natural for several legalization tasks. For example, it allows lowering code for nodes with floating-point or vector constants to see those constants directly instead of seeing the lowered form (often constant-pool loads). This makes some things somewhat more complicated today, though it ought to allow things to be simpler in the future. It also fixes some bugs exposed by Legalizing using RAUW aggressively. Remove the part of LegalizeOps that attempted to patch up invalid chain operands on libcalls generated by LegalizeTypes, since it doesn't work with the new LegalizeOps traversal order. Instead, define what LegalizeTypes is doing to be correct, and transfer the responsibility of keeping calls from having overlapping calling sequences into the scheduler. Teach the scheduler to model callseq_begin/end pairs as having a physical register definition/use to prevent calls from having overlapping calling sequences. This is also somewhat complicated, though there are ways it might be simplified in the future. This addresses rdar://9816668, rdar://10043614, rdar://8434668, and others. Please direct high-level questions about this patch to management. with a vector condition); such selects become VSELECT codegen nodes. This patch also removes VSETCC codegen nodes, unifying them with SETCC nodes (codegen was actually often using SETCC for vector SETCC already). This ensures that various DAG combiner optimizations kick in for vector comparisons. Passes dragonegg bootstrap with no testsuite regressions (nightly testsuite as well as "make check-all"). replace an OpA with a widened OpB, it is possible to get new uses of OpA due to CSE when recursively updating nodes. Since OpA has been processed, the new uses are not examined again. 2009-08-05Major calling convention code refactoring.Dan Gohman
Instead of awkwardly encoding calling-convention information with ISD::CALL, ISD::FORMAL_ARGUMENTS, ISD::RET, and ISD::ARG_FLAGS nodes, TargetLowering provides three virtual functions for targets to override: LowerFormalArguments, LowerCall, and LowerRet, which replace the custom lowering done on the special nodes. They provide the same information, but in a more immediately usable format. This also reworks much of the target-independent tail call logic. The decision of whether or not to perform a tail call is now cleanly split between target-independent portions, and the target dependent portion in IsEligibleForTailCallOptimization.
