2014-06-04gpu: ipu-v3: Move i.MX IPUv3 core driver out of stagingPhilipp Zabel
The i.MX Image Processing Unit (IPU) contains a number of image processing blocks that sit right in the middle between DRM and V4L2. Some of the modules, such as Display Controller, Processor, and Interface (DC, DP, DI) or CMOS Sensor Interface (CSI) and their FIFOs could be assigned to either framework, but others, such as the dma controller (IDMAC) and image converter (IC) can be used by both. The IPUv3 core driver provides an internal API to access the modules, to be used by both DRM and V4L2 IPUv3 drivers. 2014-02-24imx-drm: remove imx-fb.cRussell King
imx-fb.c doesn't need to be separate from imx-drm-core.c - all it is doing is setting up the minimum and maximum sizes of the scanout buffers, and setting up the mode_config function pointers. Move the contents into imx-drm-core.c and kill this file. 2014-02-24imx-drm: remove separate imx-fbdevRussell King
Now that we know when the components of the imx-drm subsystem will be initialised, we can move the fbdev helper initialisation and teardown into imx-drm-core. This gives us the required ordering that DRM wants in both driver load and unload methods. We can also stop exporting the imx_drm_device_get() and imx_drm_device_put() methods; nothing but the fbdev helper was making use of these. 2013-12-08imx-drm: Add mx6 hdmi transmitter supportFabio Estevam
Add mx6 hdmi transmitter support. Original work has been done by Sascha Hauer and Tony Prisk. Special thanks to Russell King for his carefully review, many bug fixes and testing of the mx6 HDMI driver. Tested on the following boards: - mx6q sabresd - mx6dl sabresd - mx6solo wandboard Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk> Signed-off-by: Fabio Estevam <fabio.estevam@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2013-11-25staging: imx-drm: Fix modular build of DRM_IMX_IPUV3Josh Boyer
commit b8d181e408af (staging: drm/imx: add drm plane support) added a file to the make target for DRM_IMX_IPUV3 but didn't adjust the objs required to actually build that as a module. Kbuild got confused and this lead to link errors like: ERROR: "ipu_plane_disable" [drivers/staging/imx-drm/ipuv3-crtc.ko] undefined! ERROR: "ipu_plane_enable" [drivers/staging/imx-drm/ipuv3-crtc.ko] undefined! Additionally, it added a call to imx_drm_crtc_id which also fails with a link error as above. To fix this, we adjust the make target with the proper objs, which will change the name of the resulting .ko. We also add an EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL for imx_drm_crtc_id. 2013-10-11staging: drm/imx: add drm plane supportPhilipp Zabel
This patch adds support for a drm overlay plane on DI0 using the DP. In principle, the overlay plane could also be used on DI1, but to switch the overlay plane between display interfaces, the base planes would have to be exchanged transparently while both display interfaces are inactive. 2013-06-18staging: drm/imx: Add LDB supportSascha Hauer
This adds support for the LVDS Display Bridge contained in i.MX5 and i.MX6 SoCs. Bit mapping, data width, and video timings are configurable via device tree. Dual-channel mode is supported for a single high-resolution source. 2013-04-09staging: drm/imx: Add support for Television Encoder (TVEv2)Philipp Zabel
This driver adds support for the Television Encoder integrated on i.MX53 SoCs (TVEv2). Currently only the VGA output mode is supported, which only uses the TVDAC to generate RGB levels. HSYNC and VSYNC signals are routed directly from the IPU signal generator pins through IOMUXC. 2012-09-21staging: drm/imx: Add i.MX IPUv3 crtc supportSascha Hauer
This adds a i.MX51/53/6 IPU (Image Processing Unit) KMS driver. The driver has been tested on the i.MX51 babbage board, the i.MX53 LOCO board and the i.MX6q sabrelite board in different clone mode and dual head setups. 2012-09-21staging: drm/imx: add i.MX IPUv3 base driverSascha Hauer
The IPU is the Image Processing Unit found on i.MX51/53/6 SoCs. It features several units for image processing, this patch adds support for the units needed for Framebuffer support, namely: - Display Controller (dc) - Display Interface (di) - Display Multi Fifo Controller (dmfc) - Display Processor (dp) - Image DMA Controller (idmac) This patch is based on the Freescale driver, but follows a different approach. The Freescale code implements logical idmac channels and the handling of the subunits is hidden in common idmac code pathes in big switch/case statements. This patch instead just provides code and resource management for the different subunits. The user, in this case the framebuffer driver, decides how the different units play together. The IPU has other units missing in this patch: - CMOS Sensor Interface (csi) - Video Deinterlacer (vdi) - Sensor Multi FIFO Controler (smfc) - Image Converter (ic) - Image Rotator (irt) Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2012-09-21staging: drm/imx: Add parallel display supportSascha Hauer
