2014-06-25brcmfmac: assign chip id and rev in bus interface after brcmf_usb_dlneededArend van Spriel
The function brcmf_usb_dlneeded() queries the device to obtain the chip id and revision. So assigning these in bus interface before the call resulted in chip id and revision being zero. The resume callbacks do partly the same a the probe callback so put common code in separate function for use in the callbacks. 2014-05-13brcmfmac: Make FWS queueing configurable.Hante Meuleman
FWS is always queuing frames and using a worker for de-queueing, this is not always efficient for all bus layer. For example SDIO has an internal queue and worker making the queueing of FWS unnecessary. Make it possible to bypass the worker if fws mode is none using a bus interface configuration. For USB bus layer this configuration is set true to have fws provide queueing regardless the fws mode. 2014-01-16brcmfmac: handle SDIO card removalArend van Spriel
When removing the card the driver still tries to access registers in the device. This patch adds another state for the bus that indicates the device is no longer reachable. This avoids errors accessing it while cleaning up the driver. 2013-12-18brcmfmac: Add definition of new protocol layer msgbuf.Hante Meuleman
A new protocol layer msgbuf will be added in the future. This change makes it possible to select the desired layer by the bus driver. USB and SDIO will select BCDC. At the moment nothing is being done with this information. The common driver needs the packet overhead for the bus in order to reserve headroom for sk_buffs. For the SDIO driver this depends on firmware features so it is not possible to provide it in the brcmf_attach() call. With firmware-signalling the packet handed to the bus specific driver layer should not be discarded with brcmf_txcomplete() in the failure path. Instead only an error is returned and the caller decides what to do with the packet. 2013-06-12brcmfmac: Take bus flowcontrol at credit mgmt into account.Hante Meuleman
On bus flow control (no more host bus resources to send packets to device) the netif flow control was toggled, however credit management should also take this status into account. Since there are multiple sources handling this flow control necessary spinlocks were added to protect flow control related data/states. For transmit packets the function brcmf_txcomplete() must be called. This should be done as well when for some reason the transmit fails to assure proper tx post processing. This patch fixes the code paths in brcmf_usb_tx() that forgot to do so. The call to brcmf_dbg(ERROR, ...) only resulted in a log message when compiled with -DDEBUG. Error messages are valuable for resolving issues so this patch replaces it with brcmf_err(...) so they always end up in the log. brcmf_usb_tx_ctlpkt sends message using brcmf_usb_send_ctl then clears boolean and waits for boolean to be set (by another thread). This can result in situation where flag gets cleared while result was already received. First clearing the flag and then sending the data will prevent this. 2012-09-05brcmfmac: fix race condition for rx and tx data.Hante Meuleman
On both rx and tx there is was a race condition on the queueing of usb requests. When for example frame gets submitted it is possible that complete function gets called even before usb_submit_urb() returns. As a result it is possible that usb requests get losts, which was noticed on OMAP4 pandaboard platform. This patch fixes the race condition.
