2014-01-23drm/nouveau/vm: reduce number of entry-points to vm_map()Ben Skeggs
Pretty much everywhere had to make the decision which to use, so it makes a lot more sense to just have one entrypoint decide the path to take instead. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2013-09-04drm/nouveau/vdec: implement support for VP3 enginesIlia Mirkin
For NV98+, BSP/VP/PPP are all FUC-based engines. Hook them all up in the same way as NVC0, but with a couple of different values. Also make sure that the PPP engine is handled in the fifo/mc/vm. Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin@alum.mit.edu> Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2013-07-30drm/nouveau/vm: make vm refcount into a krefBen Skeggs
Never used to be required, but a recent change made it necessary. Reported-by: Maarten Lankhorst <maarten.lankhorst@canonical.com> Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2013-07-05drm/nouveau: use vmalloc for pgt allocationMarcin Slusarz
Page tables on nv50 take 48kB, which can be hard to allocate in one piece. Let's use vmalloc. Signed-off-by: Marcin Slusarz <marcin.slusarz@gmail.com> Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org [3.7+] Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>

2013-07-01drm/nouveau/vm: perform a bar flush when flushing vmMaarten Lankhorst
Appears to fix the regression from "drm/nvc0/vm: handle bar tlb flushes internally". nvidia always seems to do this flush after writing values. Signed-off-by: Maarten Lankhorst <maarten.lankhorst@canonical.com> Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2013-07-01drm/nouveau/vm: make each vma take a reference on its parent vmBen Skeggs

2013-07-01drm/nouveau/vm: take subdev mutex, not the mm, protects against race with ↵Ben Skeggs
vm/nvc0 nvc0_vm_flush() accesses the pgd list, which will soon be able to race with vm_unlink() during channel destruction. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>

2013-07-01drm/nv50-/vm: take mutex rather than irqsave spinlockBen Skeggs
These operations can take quite some time, and we really don't want to have to hold a spinlock for too long. Now that the lock ordering for vm and the gr/nv84 hw bug workaround has been reversed, it's possible to use a mutex here. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2013-07-01drm/nv50/vm: remove explicit vm knowledge from enginesBen Skeggs
This reverses the lock ordering between VM and gr/nv84:nvc0. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>

2013-01-13drm/nouveau/vm: fix memory corruption when pgt allocation failsMarcin Slusarz
If we return freed vm, nouveau_drm_open will happily call nouveau_cli_destroy, which will try to free it again. Reported-by: Peter Hurley <peter@hurleysoftware.com> Signed-off-by: Marcin Slusarz <marcin.slusarz@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2012-11-09drm/nv41/vm: fix typo in type nameMarcin Slusarz
It's a miracle it compiles at all - nv04_vm_priv does not exist anywhere in the tree. Signed-off-by: Marcin Slusarz <marcin.slusarz@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>

2012-10-03drm/nv41/vm: fix and enable use of "real" pciegartBen Skeggs
Hopefully fixed the tlb flush timeout issue. Was able to observe this condition occur occasionally, and it appears the binary driver doesn't wait on the old condition either.. Should give 39-bit DMA addressing on the relevant chipsets. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2012-10-03drm/nv44/vm: fix and enable use of "real" pciegartBen Skeggs
Something seems to be missing in regards to flushing specific ranges of the TLB. For the moment, flushing the entire thing seems to make it work alright. Should give 39-bit DMA addressing on the relevant chipsets. v2: allocate contig 16KiB for dummy pages, reported by mwk on irc Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>

2012-10-03drm/nouveau: port all engines to new engine module formatBen Skeggs
This is a HUGE commit, but it's not nearly as bad as it looks - any problems can be isolated to a particular chipset and engine combination. It was simply too difficult to port each one at a time, the compat layers are *already* ridiculous. Most of the changes here are simply to the glue, the process for each of the engine modules was to start with a standard skeleton and copy+paste the old code into the appropriate places, fixing up variable names etc as needed. v2: Marcin Slusarz <marcin.slusarz@gmail.com> - fix find/replace bug in license header v3: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com> - bump indirect pushbuf size to 8KiB, 4KiB barely enough for userspace and left no space for kernel's requirements during GEM pushbuf submission. - fix duplicate assignments noticed by clang v4: Marcin Slusarz <marcin.slusarz@gmail.com> - add sparse annotations to nv04_fifo_pause/nv04_fifo_start - use ioread32_native/iowrite32_native for fifo control registers v5: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com> - rebase on v3.6-rc4, modified to keep copy engine fix intact - nv10/fence: unmap fence bo before destroying - fixed fermi regression when using nvidia gr fuc - fixed typo in supported dma_mask checking Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2012-10-03drm/nouveau/instmem: completely new implementation, as a subdev moduleBen Skeggs

2012-10-03drm/nouveau: restructure source tree, split core from drm implementationBen Skeggs
Future work will be headed in the way of separating the policy supplied by the nouveau drm module from the mechanisms provided by the driver core. There will be a couple of major classes (subdev, engine) of driver modules that have clearly defined tasks, and the further directory structure change is to reflect this. No code changes here whatsoever, aside from fixing up a couple of include file pathnames. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
