Summary: Statistics are still available in Release+Asserts (any +Asserts builds), and stats can also be turned on with LLVM_ENABLE_STATS. Move some of the FastISel stats that were moved under DEBUG() back out of DEBUG(), since stats are disabled across the board now. Many tests depend on grepping "-stats" output. Move those into a orig_dir/Stats/. so that they can be marked as unsupported when building without statistics. call, the call cannot be duplicated - Jump threading, loop unrolling, loop unswitching, and loop rotation are inhibited if they would duplicate the call. 2012-06-26Enable the new LoopInfo algorithm by default.Andrew Trick
The primary advantage is that loop optimizations will be applied in a stable order. This helps debugging and unit test creation. It is also a better overall implementation without pathologically bad performance on deep functions. On large functions (llvm-stress --size=200000 | opt -loops) Before: 0.1263s After: 0.0225s On deep functions (after tweaking llvm-stress, thanks Nadav): Before: 0.2281s After: 0.0227s See r158790 for more comments. The loop tree is now consistently generated in forward order, but loop passes are applied in reverse order over the program. Allow the "SplitCriticalEdge" function to split the edge to a landing pad. If the pass is *sure* that it thinks it knows what it's doing, then it may go ahead and specify that the landing pad can have its critical edge split. The loop unswitch pass is one of these passes. It will split the critical edges of all edges coming from a loop to a landing pad not within the loop.
