The failures in r116753 r116756 were caused by a python issue - Python likes to append 'L' suffix to stringified numbers if the number is larger than a machine int. Unfortunately, this causes a divergence of behavior between 32 and 64 bit python versions. I re-crafted elf-dump/common_dump to take care of these issues by: 1. always printing 0x (makes for easy sed/regex) 2. always print fixed length (exactly 2 + numBits/4 digits long) by mod ((2^numBits) - 1) 3. left-padded with '0' There is a residual common routine that is also used by macho-dump (dataToHex) , so I left the 'section_data' test values alone. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@116823 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

2009-08-21llvm-mc: Start MCAssembler and MCMachOStreamer.Daniel Dunbar
- Together these form the (Mach-O) back end of the assembler. - MCAssembler is the actual assembler backend, which is designed to have a reasonable API. This will eventually grow to support multiple object file implementations, but for now its Mach-O/i386 only. - MCMachOStreamer adapts the MCStreamer "actions" API to the MCAssembler API, e.g. converting the various directives into fragments, managing state like the current section, and so on. - llvm-mc will use the new backend via '-filetype=obj', which may eventually be, but is not yet, since I hear that people like assemblers which actually assemble. - The only thing that works at the moment is changing sections. For the time being I have a Python Mach-O dumping tool in test/scripts so this stuff can be easily tested, eventually I expect to replace this with a real LLVM tool. - More doxyments to come. 2007-04-14Add a script to run a command but ignore its return code. This scriptReid Spencer
always returns 0. This is useful with the llvm.exp based dejagnu testing when a test wants to check the error output of tool invocation that returns non-zero.
