This approach is also more robust as it prevents accidental NULL pointer dereferences. The rationale is that no driver actually needs the limiting behavior, and the unlimiting behavior is slightly easier to implement. Update the documentation to reflect this change. This patch catches all of the drivers that I found in the current tree (if a driver sets the .owner by hand, it's not a problem, just not needed.) This violates the i2c protocol and can cause what appears to be an i2c bus hang. This patch delays issuing the stop condition until the i2c device can reasonably expect a stop condition.
