2006-03-23NTFS: Remove all the make_bad_inode() calls. This should only be calledAnton Altaparmakov
from read inode and new inode code paths. Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2006-03-23NTFS: Use buffer_migrate_page() for the ->migratepage function of all ntfsAnton Altaparmakov
address space operations. Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2006-02-24NTFS: Implement support for sector sizes above 512 bytes (up to the maximumAnton Altaparmakov
supported by NTFS which is 4096 bytes).
2005-10-19NTFS: $EA attributes can be both resident non-resident.Anton Altaparmakov
Minor tidying. Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-10-11NTFS: Remove address space operations ->prepare_write and ->commit_write inAnton Altaparmakov
preparation for the big rewrite of write(2) support in ntfs. Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-09-19NTFS: Fix ntfs_{read,write}page() to cope with concurrent truncates better.Anton Altaparmakov

2005-09-08NTFS: 2.1.24 release and some minor final fixes.Anton Altaparmakov
Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-09-08NTFS: Improve scalability by changing the driver global spin lock inAnton Altaparmakov
fs/ntfs/aops.c::ntfs_end_buffer_async_read() to a bit spin lock in the first buffer head of a page. Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-09-08NTFS: Fix page_has_buffers()/page_buffers() handling in fs/ntfs/aops.c.Anton Altaparmakov
Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-09-08NTFS: Fixup handling of sparse, compressed, and encrypted attributes inAnton Altaparmakov
fs/ntfs/aops.c::ntfs_readpage(). Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-09-08NTFS: Fix fs/ntfs/aops.c::ntfs_{read,write}_block() to handle the caseAnton Altaparmakov
where a concurrent truncate has truncated the runlist under our feet. Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-09-08NTFS: Optimize fs/ntfs/aops.c::ntfs_write_block() by extending the pageAnton Altaparmakov
lock protection over the buffer submission for i/o which allows the removal of the get_bh()/put_bh() pairs for each buffer. Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-09-08NTFS: Fixup handling of sparse, compressed, and encrypted attributes inAnton Altaparmakov
fs/ntfs/aops.c::ntfs_writepage(). Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-09-08NTFS: Make ntfs_write_block() not instantiate sparse blocks if they are zero.Anton Altaparmakov
Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-08-16NTFS: Complete the previous fix for the unset device when mapping buffersAnton Altaparmakov
for mft record writing. I had missed the writepage based mft record write code path. Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-06-25NTFS: Fix a bug in address space operations error recovery code paths whereAnton Altaparmakov
if the runlist was not mapped at all and a mapping error occured we would leave the runlist locked on exit to the function so that the next access to the same file would try to take the lock and deadlock. Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-05-05NTFS: Use MAX_BUF_PER_PAGE instead of variable sized array allocation forAnton Altaparmakov
better code generation and one less sparse warning in fs/ntfs/aops.c. Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-05-05NTFS: - Modify ->readpage and ->writepage (fs/ntfs/aops.c) so they detectAnton Altaparmakov
and handle the case where an attribute is converted from resident to non-resident by a concurrent file write. - Reorder some operations when converting an attribute from resident to non-resident (fs/ntfs/attrib.c) so it is safe wrt concurrent ->readpage and ->writepage. Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-05-05NTFS: Fix printk format warnings on ia64. (Randy Dunlap)Randy Dunlap
Signed-off-by: Randy Dunlap <rddunlap@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-05-05NTFS: - Split ntfs_map_runlist() into ntfs_map_runlist() and a non-lockingAnton Altaparmakov
helper ntfs_map_runlist_nolock() which is used by ntfs_map_runlist(). This allows us to map runlist fragments with the runlist lock already held without having to drop and reacquire it around the call. Adapt all callers. - Change ntfs_find_vcn() to ntfs_find_vcn_nolock() which takes a locked runlist. This allows us to find runlist elements with the runlist lock already held without having to drop and reacquire it around the call. Adapt all callers. Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-05-05NTFS: Optimise/reorganise some error handling code in fs/ntfs/aops.c.Anton Altaparmakov
Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-05-05NTFS: Fixup the resident attribute resizing code inAnton Altaparmakov
fs/ntfs/aops.c::ntfs_{prepare,commit}_write()() and re-enable it. It should be safe now. (Famous last words...) Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-05-05NTFS: Repeat a failed ntfs_truncate() in fs/ntfs/aops.c::ntfs_writepage()Anton Altaparmakov
and abort if it fails again. Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>
2005-05-05NTFS: Use i_size_{read,write}() in fs/ntfs/{aops.c,mft.c} and protectAnton Altaparmakov
access to the i_size and other size fields using the size_lock. Signed-off-by: Anton Altaparmakov <aia21@cantab.net>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
