2014-05-23net: filter: let unattached filters use sock_fprog_kernDaniel Borkmann
The sk_unattached_filter_create() API is used by BPF filters that are not directly attached or related to sockets, and are used in team, ptp, xt_bpf, cls_bpf, etc. As such all users do their own internal managment of obtaining filter blocks and thus already have them in kernel memory and set up before calling into sk_unattached_filter_create(). As a result, due to __user annotation in sock_fprog, sparse triggers false positives (incorrect type in assignment [different address space]) when filters are set up before passing them to sk_unattached_filter_create(). Therefore, let sk_unattached_filter_create() API use sock_fprog_kern to overcome this issue. From: Heiko Stuebner <heiko@sntech.de> Similar to muxes which already have a read-only flag there sometimes exist dividers which should not be changed by the clock framework but whose value still should be readable. git://git.stlinux.com/devel/kernel/linux-sti into next/dt Merge "ARM: STi: DT changes for v3.16, v3" from Maxime Coquelin: Please consider these STi DT updates for v3.16. This 3rd version takes into account Olof's comments on the v2: - Fix upper-cases in labels and node names - Sort compatibles order from specific to generic - Sort dts entries in Makefile It also adds support for the B2020 revision E board for STiH416 SoC. Note that two reset patches are part of this pull request, in order to avoid compilation breakage. 2014-05-23Merge branch 'axxia/soc' into next/socArnd Bergmann
Patches from Anders Berg applied individually: Here is version 4 of platform support for AXM5516 SoC. The clk driver is now applied to clk-next. The rest should be ready for arm-soc. Haven't got any response from the power/reset maintainers... I hope this driver can be taken via arm-soc as well. The AXM55xx family consists of devices that may contain up to 16 ARM Cortex-A15 cores (in a 4x4 cluster configuration). The cores within each cluster share an L2 cache, and the clusters are connected to each other via a CCN-504 cache coherent interconnect. This machine requires CONFIG_ARM_LPAE enabled as all peripherals are located above 4GB in the memory map. * axxia/soc: ARM: dts: axxia: Add reset controller power: reset: Add Axxia system reset driver ARM: axxia: Adding defconfig for AXM55xx ARM: dts: Device tree for AXM55xx. 2014-05-24USB: Avoid runtime suspend loops for HCDs that can't handle suspend/resumeAlan Stern
Not all host controller drivers have bus-suspend and bus-resume methods. When one doesn't, it will cause problems if runtime PM is enabled in the kernel. The PM core will attempt to suspend the controller's root hub, the suspend will fail because there is no bus-suspend routine, and a -EBUSY error code will be returned to the PM core. This will cause the suspend attempt to be repeated shortly thereafter, in a never-ending loop. Part of the problem is that the original error code -ENOENT gets changed to -EBUSY in usb_runtime_suspend(), on the grounds that the PM core will interpret -ENOENT as meaning that the root hub has gotten into a runtime-PM error state. While this change is appropriate for real USB devices, it's not such a good idea for a root hub. In fact, considering the root hub to be in a runtime-PM error state would not be far from the truth. Therefore this patch updates usb_runtime_suspend() so that it adjusts error codes only for non-root-hub devices. Furthermore, the patch attempts to prevent the problem from occurring in the first place by not enabling runtime PM by default for root hubs whose host controller driver doesn't have bus_suspend and bus_resume methods. 2014-05-23net-next:v4: Add support to configure SR-IOV VF minimum and maximum Tx rate ↵Sucheta Chakraborty
through ip tool. o min_tx_rate puts lower limit on the VF bandwidth. VF is guaranteed to have a bandwidth of at least this value. max_tx_rate puts cap on the VF bandwidth. VF can have a bandwidth of up to this value. o A new handler set_vf_rate for attr IFLA_VF_RATE has been introduced which takes 4 arguments: netdev, VF number, min_tx_rate, max_tx_rate o ndo_set_vf_rate replaces ndo_set_vf_tx_rate handler. o Drivers that currently implement ndo_set_vf_tx_rate should now call ndo_set_vf_rate instead and reject attempt to set a minimum bandwidth greater than 0 for IFLA_VF_TX_RATE when IFLA_VF_RATE is not yet implemented by driver. o If user enters only one of either min_tx_rate or max_tx_rate, then, userland should read back the other value from driver and set both for IFLA_VF_RATE. Drivers that have not yet implemented IFLA_VF_RATE should always return min_tx_rate as 0 when read from ip tool. o If both IFLA_VF_TX_RATE and IFLA_VF_RATE options are specified, then IFLA_VF_RATE should override. o Idea is to have consistent display of rate values to user. o Usage example: - ./ip link set p4p1 vf 0 rate 900 ./ip link show p4p1 32: p4p1: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN mode DEFAULT qlen 1000 link/ether 00:0e:1e:08:b0:f0 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vf 0 MAC 3e:a0:ca:bd:ae:5a, tx rate 900 (Mbps), max_tx_rate 900Mbps vf 1 MAC f6:c6:7c:3f:3d:6c vf 2 MAC 56:32:43:98:d7:71 vf 3 MAC d6:be:c3:b5:85:ff vf 4 MAC ee:a9:9a:1e:19:14 vf 5 MAC 4a:d0:4c:07:52:18 vf 6 MAC 3a:76:44:93:62:f9 vf 7 MAC 82:e9:e7:e3:15:1a ./ip link set p4p1 vf 0 max_tx_rate 300 min_tx_rate 200 ./ip link show p4p1 32: p4p1: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN mode DEFAULT qlen 1000 link/ether 00:0e:1e:08:b0:f0 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vf 0 MAC 3e:a0:ca:bd:ae:5a, tx rate 300 (Mbps), max_tx_rate 300Mbps, min_tx_rate 200Mbps vf 1 MAC f6:c6:7c:3f:3d:6c vf 2 MAC 56:32:43:98:d7:71 vf 3 MAC d6:be:c3:b5:85:ff vf 4 MAC ee:a9:9a:1e:19:14 vf 5 MAC 4a:d0:4c:07:52:18 vf 6 MAC 3a:76:44:93:62:f9 vf 7 MAC 82:e9:e7:e3:15:1a ./ip link set p4p1 vf 0 max_tx_rate 600 rate 300 ./ip link show p4p1 32: p4p1: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN mode DEFAULT qlen 1000 link/ether 00:0e:1e:08:b0:f brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vf 0 MAC 3e:a0:ca:bd:ae:5, tx rate 600 (Mbps), max_tx_rate 600Mbps, min_tx_rate 200Mbps vf 1 MAC f6:c6:7c:3f:3d:6c vf 2 MAC 56:32:43:98:d7:71 vf 3 MAC d6:be:c3:b5:85:ff vf 4 MAC ee:a9:9a:1e:19:14 vf 5 MAC 4a:d0:4c:07:52:18 vf 6 MAC 3a:76:44:93:62:f9 vf 7 MAC 82:e9:e7:e3:15:1a Signed-off-by: Sucheta Chakraborty <sucheta.chakraborty@qlogic.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2014-05-23[media] exynos4-is: Free FIMC-IS CPU memory only when allocatedSylwester Nawrocki
Ensure dma_free_coherent() is not called with incorrect arguments and only when the memory was actually allocated. This will prevent possible crashes on error paths of the top level media device driver, when fimc-is device gets unregistered and its driver detached. CONFIG_COMMON_CLK is not enabled on S5PV210 platform, so include some clk API data structures conditionally to avoid compilation errors. These #ifdefs will be removed for next kernel release, when the S5PV210 platform moves to DT and the common clk API.
