2014-05-28PCI: Add function 0 DMA alias quirk for Ricoh devicesAlex Williamson
The existing quirk for these devices (pci_get_dma_source()) doesn't really solve the problem; re-implement it using the DMA alias iterator. We'll come back later and remove the existing quirk and dma_source interface. Note that device ID 0xe822 is typically function 0 and 0xe230 has been tested to not need the quirk and are therefore removed versus the equivalent dma_source quirk. If there exist in other configurations we can re-add them. 2014-05-28PCI: Add support for DMA alias quirksAlex Williamson
Some devices are broken and use a requester ID other than their physical devfn. Add a byte, using an existing gap in the pci_dev structure, to store an alternate "alias" devfn. A bit in the dev_flags tells us when this is valid. We then add the alias as one more step in the pci_for_each_dma_alias() iterator. 2014-05-28staging: vt6655: refactor iwctl_giwaplist() to avoid -Wframe-larger-than warn.Konrad Zapalowicz
This commit refactors the iwctl_giwaplist() function so that the sparse warning "the frame size of 1292 bytes is larger than 1024 bytes [-Wframe-larger-than=]" is no more. The root cause of this warning were two arrays allocated on the stack and this commit changes this - these arrays are now kmalloc'ed. As a result the function is refactored and hopefully stil working the same. I were not able to test these changes so at least the carefull review is more than welcomed. Note that my changes has broadened the set of error codes that this function can return. The new error code is ENOMEM. Luckily, this is no issue. 2014-05-28console: Use explicit pointer type for vc_uni_pagedir* fieldsTakashi Iwai
The vc_data.vc_uni_pagedir filed is currently long int, supposedly to be served generically. This, however, leads to lots of cast to pointer, and rather it worsens the readability significantly. Actually, we have now only a single uni_pagedir map implementation, and this won't change likely. So, it'd be much more simple and error-prone to just use the exact pointer for struct uni_pagedir instead of long. Ditto for vc_uni_pagedir_loc. It's a pointer to the uni_pagedir, thus it can be changed similarly to the exact type. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2014-05-28vgacon: Fix & cleanup refcountingTakashi Iwai
The vgacon driver prepares a two element array of uni_pagedir_loc and uses the second item as its own reference counter for sharing the uni_pagedir. And the code assumes blindly that the second item is available if the assigned vc_uni_pagedir isn't the standard one, which might be wrong (although currently it's so). This patch fixes that wrong assumption, and gives a slight cleanup along with it: namely, instead of array, just give the uni_pagedir_loc and a separate refcount variable. It makes the code a bit more understandable at first glance. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

2014-05-28tty/hvc/hvc_console: Fix wakeup of HVC thread on hvc_kick()Benjamin Herrenschmidt
Some backends call hvc_kick() to wakeup the HVC thread from its slumber upon incoming characters. This however doesn't work properly because it uses msleep_interruptible() which is mostly immune to wake_up_process(). It will basically go back to sleep until the timeout is expired (only signals can really wake it). Replace it with a simple shedule_timeout_interruptible() instead, which may wakeup earlier every now and then but we really don't care in this case. 2014-05-28mtd: pxa3xx_nand: make the driver work on big-endian systemsThomas Petazzoni
The pxa3xx_nand driver currently uses __raw_writel() and __raw_readl() to access I/O registers. However, those functions do not do any endianness swapping, which means that they won't work when the CPU runs in big-endian but the I/O registers are little endian, which is the common situation for ARM systems running big endian. Since __raw_writel() and __raw_readl() do not include any memory barriers and the pxa3xx_nand driver can only be compiled for ARM platforms, the closest I/o accessors functions that do endianess swapping are writel_relaxed() and readl_relaxed(). This patch has been verified to work on Armada XP GP: without the patch, the NAND is not detected when the kernel runs big endian while it is properly detected when the kernel runs little endian. With the patch applied, the NAND is properly detected in both situations (little and big endian). 2014-05-28usb: host: xhci-plat: add xhci_plat_start()Yoshihiro Shimoda
Some platforms (such as the Renesas R-Car) need to initialize some specific registers after xhci driver calls usb_add_hcd() and before the driver calls xhci_run(). So, this patch adds the xhci_plat_start() function. 2014-05-28regulator: Fix regulator_get_{optional,exclusive}() documentationStephen Boyd
regulator_get_optional() doesn't hold an exclusive reference to the regulator. Fix the documentation and reword the exclusive documentation to fix the grammatical error "this reference is held". Signed-off-by: Stephen Boyd <sboyd@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@linaro.org>
