Fix for ftdi_set_termios() glitching output
ftdi_set_termios() is constantly setting the baud rate, data bits and parity
unnecessarily on every call, . When called while characters are being
transmitted can cause the FTDI chip to corrupt the serial port bit stream
output by stalling the output half a bit during the output of a character.
Simple fix by skipping this setting if the baud rate/data bits/parity are
unchanged.

I picked up a new DAK-780EX(professional digitl reverb/mix system),
which use CH341T chipset to communication with computer on 3/2011
and the CH341T's vendor code is 1a86
Looking up the CH341T's vendor and product id's I see:
1a86 QinHeng Electronics
5523 CH341 in serial mode, usb to serial port converter
CH341T,CH341 are the products of the same company, maybe
have some common hardware, and I test the ch341.c works
well with CH341T

Added 0x0307 device id to support Motorola cables to the pl2303 usb
serial driver. This cable has a modified chip that is a pl2303, but
declares itself as 0307. Fixed by adding the right device id to the
supported devices list, assigning it the code labeled
PL2303_PRODUCT_ID_MOTOROLA.

I tried a magnetic stripe reader
(http://www.kimaldi.com/kimaldi_eng/productos/lectores_de_tarjetas/lectores_tarjeta_chip_y_dni/lector_hibrido_uniform_hcr_331)
and I see that it is interfaced with a PL2303. I wrote a patch to use
your driver which simply adds the product ID for the device and it
seems working fine.

The major and minor number saved in the product_info structure
were copied from the address instead of the data, causing an
inconsistency in the reported versions during firmware loading:

If we can't read the firmware for a device from the disk, and yet the
device already has a valid firmware image in it, we don't want to
replace the firmware with something invalid. So check the version
number to be less than the current one to verify this is the correct
thing to do.

2.6.27.39.
This patch (as1254-2) splits up the shutdown method of usb_serial_driver
into a disconnect and a release method.
The problem is that the usb-serial core was calling shutdown during
disconnect handling, but drivers didn't expect it to be called until
after all the open file references had been closed. The result was an
oops when the close method tried to use memory that had been
deallocated by shutdown.

This patch (as1244) fixes a crash in usb-serial that occurs when a
sub-driver returns a positive value from its attach method, indicating
that new firmware was loaded and the device will disconnect and
reconnect. The usb-serial core then skips the step of registering the
port devices; when the disconnect occurs, the attempt to unregister
the ports fails dramatically.
This problem shows up with Keyspan devices and it might affect others
as well.
When the attach method returns a positive value, the patch sets
num_ports to 0. This tells usb_serial_disconnect() not to try
unregistering any of the ports; instead they are cleaned up by
destroy_serial().

This patch (as1229-1) fixes a few lifetime and locking problems in the
usb-serial driver. The main symptom is that an invalid kevent is
created when the serial device is unplugged while a connection is
active.
Ports should be unregistered when device is disconnected,
not when the parent usb_serial structure is deallocated.
Each open file should hold a reference to the corresponding
port structure, and the reference should be released when
the file is closed.
serial->disc_mutex should be acquired in serial_open(), to
resolve the classic race between open and disconnect.
serial_close() doesn't need to hold both serial->disc_mutex
and port->mutex at the same time.
Release the subdriver's module reference only after releasing
all the other references, in case one of the release routines
needs to invoke some code in the subdriver module.
Replace a call to flush_scheduled_work() (which is prone to
deadlocks) with cancel_work_sync(). Also, add a call to
cancel_work_sync() in the disconnect routine.
Reduce the scope of serial->disc_mutex in serial_disconnect().
The only place it really needs to protect is where the
"disconnected" flag is set.
Call the shutdown method from within serial_disconnect()
instead of destroy_serial(), because some subdrivers expect
the port data structures still to be in existence when
their shutdown method runs.
This fixes the bug reported in

The generic cdc-acm driver is now the best one to handle Sony Ericsson
F3507g-based devices (which the Dell 5530 is a rebrand of), now that all
the pieces are in place (ie, cac477e8f1038c41b6f29d3161ce351462ef3df7).
Removing the IDs from option allows cdc-acm to handle the device.

In this patch, we want to do one thing: add more Huawei product IDs into the
USB driver. Then it can support more Huawei data card devices. So to declare
the unusual device for new Huawei data card devices in unusual_devs.h and to
declare more new product IDs in option.c.
To modify the data value and length in the function of
usb_stor_huawei_e220_init in initializers.c That's because based on the USB
standard, while sending SET_FETURE_D to the device, it requires the
corresponding data to be zero, and its sending length also must be zero. In
our old solution, it can be compatible with our WCDMA data card devices, but
can not support our CDMA data card devices. But in this new solution, it can
be compatible with all of our data card devices.

While making some other changes to ti_usb_3410_5052, I noticed that the
changes made to move the firmware loading to a separate function are
broken (in ti_download_firmware(), status is set to -ENOMEM and never
changed). This means the driver will never initialize the device
properly. It looks like status was supposed to get the result of
ti_do_download().

I was trying to figure out why my device wasn't supported by the
drivers/usb/serial/sierra.c driver, while looking throught the device
IDs I spotted what I believe to be a typo in the device IDs. Please
apply the following patch
If you look down further, there is another HP wireless broadband card,
which has a vendor ID of 03f0, like my device. Below is my "lsusb -v

The hw interface drivers for the usb serial devices deference the tty
structure to set up the parameters for the initial console. The tty
structure should be passed as a parameter to the set_termios() call.
