2009-10-13ixgb: Fix erroneous display of stats by ethtool -SAjit Khaparde
Commit 5675f221 overlooked the way offsets for netdev stats were considered. Because of this some of the stats shown by ethtool -S were wrong. This patch fixes it. Signed-off-by: Ajit Khaparde <ajitk@serverengines.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2009-10-07ixgb: Use the instance of net_device_stats from net_device.Ajit Khaparde

2008-02-24ixgb: add RNBC counter - no buffer count - to ethtool statsAuke Kok
This counter is valuable to determine if the system is unable to timely return buffers to the hardware and this counter starts to increase well before the hardware starts to drop packets. If users experience rx_no_buffer_count increasing, they should increase the amount of descriptors. That will provide more buffers for the hardware and will decrease the chance of hard drops. 2007-10-10[ETHTOOL] Provide default behaviors for a few ethtool sub-ioctlsJeff Garzik
For the operations get-tx-csum get-sg get-tso get-ufo the default ethtool_op_xxx behavior is fine for all drivers, so we permit op==NULL to imply the default behavior. This provides a more uniform behavior across all drivers, eliminating ethtool(8) "ioctl not supported" errors on older drivers that had not been updated for the latest sub-ioctls. The ethtool_op_xxx() functions are left exported, in case anyone wishes to call them directly from a driver-private implementation -- a not-uncommon case. Should an ethtool_op_xxx() helper remain unused for a while, except by net/core/ethtool.c, we can un-export it at a later date. 2007-07-31[NET]: ethtool_perm_addr only has one implementationMatthew Wilcox
All drivers implement ethtool get_perm_addr the same way -- by calling the generic function. So we can inline the generic function into the caller and avoid going through the drivers. Signed-off-by: Matthew Wilcox <matthew@wil.cx> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
