2012-05-14[media] saa7146: fix querycap, vbi/video separation and g/s_registerHans Verkuil
The querycap ioctl returned an incorrect version number and incorrect capabilities (mixing up vbi and video caps). The reason for that was that video nodes could do vbi activities: that should be separated between the vbi and video nodes. There were also a few minor problems with dbg_g/s_register that have been resolved. The mxb/saa7146 driver now passes the v4l2_compliance tests. This is a big patch, yet trivial: now that all tuners use the DVBv5 way to pass parameters (e. g. via fe->dtv_property_cache), the extra parameter can be removed from set_params() call. I noticed a stray 0x00 at init on DiSEqC bus (KNC1 DVB-S2) with a DiSEqC tool analyzer. I removed the register from initialization table and all seem to go well (at least for my KNC board). Standardize the mechanisms to emit logging messages. A few other modules used an #include from saa7146, convert those at the same time. Add pr_fmt. Convert printks to pr_<level> Convert printks without KERN_<level> to appropriate pr_<level>. Convert logging macros requiring multiple parentheses to normal style. Removed embedded prefixes when pr_fmt was added. Whitespace cleanups when around other conversions. Use printf extension %pM to print mac address. Coalesce format strings. 2010-12-30[media] v4l: fix handling of v4l2_input.capabilitiesHans Verkuil
The v4l core sets the v4l2_input.capabilities field based on the supplied v4l2_ioctl_ops. However, several drivers do a memset or memcpy of the v4l2_input struct, thus overwriting that field incorrectly. Either remove the memset (which is already done by the v4l core), or add the proper capabilities field in case of a memcpy. With a lower bandwidth setup, the Transport Stream gets corrupted due to TSFIFO overrun. The patch fixes the issue. Quoting the commit introducing reinitialise_demod (3984 / by adq): "These cards [KNC1 DVBT and DVBC] need special handling for CI - reinitialising the frontend device when the CI module is reset." The current ci implementation doesn't accept 0xff when reading data bytes (address == 0), thus breaks cams which report a buffer size of 0x--ff like my orion one. Rename dvb_pll_desc.setbw() to set(), and accept struct dvb_frontend_parameters instead of passing both freq and bandwidth, so that this may be used as a generic function.
