2014-04-04drm: gem-cma: Fix warnings due to improper printk formatsLaurent Pinchart
Use the %pad printk specifier to print dma_addr_t variables. This fixes warnings on platforms where dma_addr_t has a different size than int or size_t. Signed-off-by: Laurent Pinchart <laurent.pinchart+renesas@ideasonboard.com> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
2014-04-04drm/cma: Use dma_mmap_writecombine() to mmap bufferLaurent Pinchart
The GEM CMA helpers uses a custom mmap implementation based on remap_pfn_range(). While this works when the buffer DMA and physical addresses are identical, it fails to take IOMMU into account and tries to mmap the buffer to userspace using the DMA virtual address instead of the physical address. This results in mapping random physical pages when the device is behind an IOMMU. Use the DMA mapping dma_mmap_writecombine() function instead. Pull drm tree changes from Dave Airlie: "This is the main drm pull request, I have some overlap with sound and arm-soc, the sound patch is acked and may conflict based on -next reports but should be a trivial fixup, which I'll leave to you! 2013-08-07drm/gem: create drm_gem_dumb_destroyDaniel Vetter
All the gem based kms drivers really want the same function to destroy a dumb framebuffer backing storage object. So give it to them and roll it out in all drivers. This still leaves the option open for kms drivers which don't use GEM for backing storage, but it does decently simplify matters for gem drivers. 2013-07-25drm/gem: convert to new unified vma managerDavid Herrmann
Use the new vma manager instead of the old hashtable. Also convert all drivers to use the new convenience helpers. This drops all the (map_list.hash.key << PAGE_SHIFT) non-sense. Locking and access-management is exactly the same as before with an additional lock inside of the vma-manager, which strictly wouldn't be needed for gem. v2: - rebase on drm-next - init nodes via drm_vma_node_reset() in drm_gem.c v3: - fix tegra v4: - remove duplicate if (drm_vma_node_has_offset()) checks - inline now trivial drm_vma_node_offset_addr() calls v5: - skip node-reset on gem-init due to kzalloc() - do not allow mapping gem-objects with offsets (backwards compat) - remove unneccessary casts Cc: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com> Cc: Rob Clark <robdclark@gmail.com> Cc: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com> Cc: Thierry Reding <thierry.reding@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David Herrmann <dh.herrmann@gmail.com> Acked-by: Patrik Jakobsson <patrik.r.jakobsson@gmail.com> Reviewed-by: Daniel Vetter <daniel.vetter@ffwll.ch> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@gmail.com>

2013-07-05drm/cma: add low-level hook functions to use prime helpersJoonyoung Shim

2013-06-28drm/gem: add mutex lock when using drm_gem_mmap_objYoungJun Cho
The drm_gem_mmap_obj() has to be protected with dev->struct_mutex, but some caller functions do not. So it adds mutex lock to missing callers and adds assertion to check whether drm_gem_mmap_obj() is called with mutex lock or not. 2013-02-17drm/cma: add debugfs helpersRob Clark
Add helper to display fb's which can be used directly in drm_info_list: static struct drm_info_list foo_debugfs_list[] = { ... { "fb", drm_fb_cma_debugfs_show, 0 }, }; to display information about CMA fb objects, as well as a drm_gem_cma_describe() which can be used if the driver bothers to keep a list of CMA GEM objects. 2012-09-18DRM: Add DRM GEM CMA helperSascha Hauer
Many embedded drm devices do not have a IOMMU and no dedicated memory for graphics. These devices use CMA (Contiguous Memory Allocator) backed graphics memory. This patch provides helper functions to be able to share the code. The code technically does not depend on CMA as the backend allocator, the name has been chosen because CMA makes for a nice, short but still descriptive function prefix.
