2006-11-18[PATCH] S390: user readable uninitialised kernel memory, take 2.Martin Schwidefsky
The previous patch to correct the copy_from_user padding is quite broken. The execute instruction needs to be done via the register %r4, not via %r2 and 31 bit doesn't know the instructions lgr and ahji. 2006-10-13S390: user readable uninitialised kernel memory (CVE-2006-5174)Martin Schwidefsky
[S390] user readable uninitialised kernel memory. A user space program can read uninitialised kernel memory by appending to a file from a bad address and then reading the result back. The cause is the copy_from_user function that does not clear the remaining bytes of the kernel buffer after it got a fault on the user space address. 2006-08-30[S390] broken copy_in_user function.Martin Schwidefsky
The copy_in_user primitive does not work as advertised. If the source and target area are available copy_in_user copies one byte too much. If one of the memory areas is not available it does not copy as much data as it can, but up to 257 bytes less. Signed-off-by: Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com>
2006-03-08[PATCH] s390: fix strnlen_user return valueGerald Schaefer
strnlen_user is supposed to return then length count + 1 if no terminating \0 is found, and it should return 0 on exception. Found by David Howells <dhowells@redhat.com>. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
