As Russell has pointed out, that commit isn't fixing Software Flow Control at all, and it actually makes it even more broken. It was agreed to revert this commit and use Russell's latest UART patches instead. Commit a5238e360b71 (spi: s3c64xx: move controller information into driver data) introduced separate device names for the different subtypes of the spi controller but forgot to set these in the relevant machines. To fix this introduce a s3c64xx_spi_setname function and populate all Samsung arches with the correct names. The function resides in a new header, as the s3c64xx-spi.h contains driver platform data and should therefore at some later point move out of the Samsung include dir. Tested on a s3c2416-based machine. When booting a secondary CPU, the primary CPU hands two sets of page tables via the secondary_data struct: (1) swapper_pg_dir: a normal, cacheable, shared (if SMP) mapping of the kernel image (i.e. the tables used by init_mm). (2) idmap_pgd: an uncached mapping of the .idmap.text ELF section. The idmap is generally used when enabling and disabling the MMU, which includes early CPU boot. This patch re-orders the secondary_start_kernel function so that we switch to swapper before performing any exclusive accesses. Michael Olbrich reported that his test program fails when built with -O2 -mcpu=cortex-a8 -mfpu=neon, and a kernel which supports v6 and v7 CPUs: volatile int x = 2; volatile int64_t y = 2; int main() { volatile int a = 0; volatile int64_t b = 0; while (1) { a = (a + x) % (1 << 30); b = (b + y) % (1 << 30); assert(a == b); } } and two instances are run. When built for just v7 CPUs, this program works fine. It uses the "vadd.i64 d19, d18, d16" VFP instruction. It appears that we do not save the high-16 double VFP registers across context switches when the kernel is built for v6 CPUs. Fix that. Explicitly including sched.h solves the problem. Pull more networking fixes from David Miller: 1) Eric Dumazet discovered and fixed what turned out to be a family of bugs. These functions were using pskb_may_pull() which might need to reallocate the linear SKB data buffer, but the callers were not expecting this possibility. The callers have cached pointers to the packet header areas, and would need to reload them if we were to continue using pskb_may_pull(). So they could end up reading garbage. It's easier to just change these RAW4/RAW6/MIP6 routines to use skb_header_pointer() instead of pskb_may_pull(), which won't modify the linear SKB data area. 2) Dave Jone's syscall spammer caught a case where a non-TCP socket can call down into the TCP keepalive code. The case basically involves creating a raw socket with sk_protocol == IPPROTO_TCP, then calling setsockopt(sock_fd, SO_KEEPALIVE, ...) Fixed by Eric Dumazet. 3) Bluetooth devices do not get configured properly while being powered on, resulting in always using legacy pairing instead of SSP. Fix from Andrzej Kaczmarek. 4) Bluetooth cancels delayed work erroneously, put stricter checks in place. To fix the warning, let's convert common clk users over to clk notifiers in place of CPUfreq notifiers. This works out nicely for Cortex-A9 MPcore designs that scale all CPUs at the same frequency. Platforms that have not been converted to the common clk framework and support CPUfreq will rely on the old mechanism. 2012-09-10arm: mm: fix DMA pool affiliation checkThomas Petazzoni
The __free_from_pool() function was changed in e9da6e9905e639b0f842a244bc770b48ad0523e9. Unfortunately, the test that checks whether the provided (start,size) is within the DMA pool has been improperly modified. It used to be: if (start < coherent_head.vm_start || end > coherent_head.vm_end) Where coherent_head.vm_end was non-inclusive (i.e, it did not include the first byte after the pool). The test has been changed to: if (start < pool->vaddr || start > pool->vaddr + pool->size) So now pool->vaddr + pool->size is inclusive (i.e, it includes the first byte after the pool), so the test should be >= instead of >. In this case, the initial loops_per_jiffy may not be suitable for the timer (although a compromise may be achievable) and delay times may be considered too inaccurate. This patch updates loops_per_jiffy when switching to the timer-based delay loop so that delays are consistent prior to calibration.
