2010-09-30Massive rewrite of MMX: Dale Johannesen
The x86_mmx type is used for MMX intrinsics, parameters and return values where these use MMX registers, and is also supported in load, store, and bitcast. Only the above operations generate MMX instructions, and optimizations do not operate on or produce MMX intrinsics. MMX-sized vectors <2 x i32> etc. are lowered to XMM or split into smaller pieces. Optimizations may occur on these forms and the result casted back to x86_mmx, provided the result feeds into a previous existing x86_mmx operation. Constant uniquing tables. This allows distinct ConstantExpr objects with the same operation and different flags. Even though a ConstantExpr "a + b" is either always overflowing or never overflowing (due to being a ConstantExpr), it's still necessary to be able to represent it both with and without overflow flags at the same time within the IR, because the safety of the flag may depend on the context of the use. If the constant really does overflow, it wouldn't ever be safe to use with the flag set, however the use may be in code that is never actually executed.
