2012-07-30Improvements to vexing-parse warnings. Make the no-parameters case moreRichard Smith
accurate by asking the parser whether there was an ambiguity rather than trying to reverse-engineer it from the DeclSpec. Make the with-parameters case have better diagnostics by using semantic information to drive the warning, improving the diagnostics and adding a fixit. Patch by Nikola Smiljanic. Replacing the semicolon with {} or moving the semicolon to the next line will always silence the warning. 2012-01-12Improve 0-argument -Wvexing-parse diagnostic by adding notes with fix-its:Richard Smith
- If the declarator is at the start of a line, and the previous line contained another declarator and ended with a comma, then that comma was probably a typo for a semicolon: int n = 0, m = 1, l = 2, // k = 5; myImportantFunctionCall(); // oops! - If removing the parentheses would correctly initialize the object, then produce a note suggesting that fix. - Otherwise, if there is a simple initializer we can suggest which performs value-initialization, then provide a note suggesting a correction to that initializer. Sema::Declarator now tracks the location of the comma prior to the declarator in the declaration, if there is one, to facilitate providing the note. 2009-11-25Eliminate CXXConditionDeclExpr with extreme prejudice.Douglas Gregor
All statements that involve conditions can now hold on to a separate condition declaration (a VarDecl), and will use a DeclRefExpr referring to that VarDecl for the condition expression. ForStmts now have such a VarDecl (I'd missed those in previous commits). Also, since this change reworks the Action interface for if/while/switch/for, use FullExprArg for the full expressions in those expressions, to ensure that we're emitting Note that we are (still) not generating the right cleanups for condition variables in for statements. semantics and improve our handling of default arguments. Specifically, we follow this order: - As soon as the see the '}' in the class definition, the class is complete and we add any implicit declarations (default constructor, copy constructor, etc.) to the class. - If there are any default function arguments, parse them - If there were any inline member function definitions, parse them As part of this change, we now keep track of the the fact that we've seen unparsed default function arguments within the AST. See the new ParmVarDecl::hasUnparsedDefaultArg member. This allows us to properly cope with calls inside default function arguments to other functions where we're making use of the default arguments.
