2012-04-17Implement DR1330 in C++11 mode, to support libstdc++4.7 which uses it.Richard Smith
We have a new flavor of exception specification, EST_Uninstantiated. A function type with this exception specification carries a pointer to a FunctionDecl, and the exception specification for that FunctionDecl is instantiated (if needed) and used in the place of the function type's exception specification. When a function template declaration with a non-trivial exception specification is instantiated, the specialization's exception specification is set to this new 'uninstantiated' kind rather than being instantiated immediately. Expr::CanThrow has migrated onto Sema, so it can instantiate exception specs on-demand. Also, any odr-use of a function triggers the instantiation of its exception specification (the exception specification could be needed by IRGen). In passing, fix two places where a DeclRefExpr was created but the corresponding function was not actually marked odr-used. We used to get away with this, but don't any more. Also fix a bug where instantiating an exception specification which refers to function parameters resulted in a crash. We still have the same bug in default arguments, which I'll be looking into next. 2012-04-16Implement C++11 [expr.prim.general]p3, which permits the use of 'this'Douglas Gregor
in the declaration of a non-static member function after the (optional) cv-qualifier-seq, which in practice means in the exception specification and late-specified return type. The new scheme here used to manage 'this' outside of a member function scope is more general than the Scope-based mechanism previously used for non-static data member initializers and late-parsesd attributes, because it can also handle the cv-qualifiers on the member function. Note, however, that a separate pass is required for static member functions to determine whether 'this' was used, because we might not know that we have a static function until after declaration matching. Finally, this introduces name mangling for 'this' and for the implicit 'this', which is intended to match GCC's mangling. Independent verification for the new mangling test case would be appreciated. code-completion related strings specific to a translation unit (ASTContext and related data) CodeCompletionAllocator does such limited caching, by caching the name assigned to a DeclContext*, but that is not the appropriate place since that object has a lifetime that can extend beyond that of an ASTContext. Introduce CodeCompletionTUInfo which will be always tied to a translation unit to do this kind of caching and move the caching of CodeCompletionAllocator into this object, and propagate it to all the places where it will be needed. The plan is to extend the caching where appropriate, using CodeCompletionTUInfo, to avoid re-calculating code-completion strings. 2012-04-09Fix bugs found by -Wconstant-conversion improvements currently under review.David Blaikie
Specifically, using a an integer outside [0, 1] as a boolean constant seems to be an easy mistake to make with things like "x == a || b" where the author intended "x == a || x == b". The bug caused by calling SkipUntil with three token kinds was also identified by a VC diagnostic & reported by Francois Pichet as review feedback for my commit r154163. I've included test cases to verify the error recovery that was broken/poorly implemented due to this bug. The other fix (lib/Sema/SemaExpr.cpp) seems like that code was never actually reached in any of Clang's tests & is related to Objective C features I'm not familiar with, so I've not been able to construct a test case for it. 2012-04-07Fix several problems with protected access control:John McCall
- The [class.protected] restriction is non-trivial for any instance member, even if the access lacks an object (for example, if it's a pointer-to-member constant). In this case, it is equivalent to requiring the naming class to equal the context class. - The [class.protected] restriction applies to accesses to constructors and destructors. A protected constructor or destructor can only be used to create or destroy a base subobject, as a direct result. - Several places were dropping or misapplying object information. The standard could really be much clearer about what the object type is supposed to be in some of these accesses. Usually it's easy enough to find a reasonable answer, but still, the standard makes a very confident statement about accesses to instance members only being possible in either pointer-to-member literals or member access expressions, which just completely ignores concepts like constructor and destructor calls, using declarations, unevaluated field references, etc. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/cfe/trunk@154248 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

Infinite recursion was happening when DiagnoseInvalidRedeclaration called ActOnFunctionDeclarator to check if a typo correction works when the correction was just to the nested-name-specifier because the wrong DeclContext was being passed in. defined here, but not semantically, so new struct S {}; is always ill-formed, even if there is a struct S in scope. We also had a couple of bugs in ParseOptionalTypeSpecifier caused by it being under-loved (due to it only being used in a few places) so merge it into ParseDeclarationSpecifiers with a new DeclSpecContext. To avoid regressing, this required improving ParseDeclarationSpecifiers' diagnostics in some cases. - The theory here is that we have these functions sprinkled in all over the place. This should allow the optimizer to at least realize it can still do load CSE across these calls. - I blindly marked all instances as such, even though the optimizer can infer this attribute in some instances (some of the inline ones) as that was easier and also, when given the choice between thinking and not thinking, I prefer the latter. 2012-03-07AST representation for user-defined literals, plus just enough of semanticRichard Smith
analysis to make the AST representation testable. They are represented by a new UserDefinedLiteral AST node, which is a sugared CallExpr. All semantic properties, including full CodeGen support, are achieved for free by this representation. UserDefinedLiterals can never be dependent, so no custom instantiation behavior is required. They are mangled as if they were direct calls to the underlying literal operator. This matches g++'s apparent behavior (but not its actual mangling, which is broken for literal-operator-ids). User-defined *string* literals are now fully-operational, but the semantic analysis is quite hacky and needs more work. No other forms of user-defined literal are created yet, but the AST support for them is present. This submission improves Clang sema handling by using Clang tablegen to generate common boilerplate code. As a start, it implements AttributeList enumerator generation and case statements for AttributeList::getKind. A new field "SemaHandler" is introduced in Attr.td and by default set to 1 as most of attributes in Attr.td have semantic checking in Sema. For a small number of attributes that don't appear in Sema, the value is set to 0. Also there are a small number of attributes that only appear in Sema but not in Attr.td. Currently these attributes are still hardcoded in Sema AttributeList. NSNumber, and boolean literals. This includes both Sema and Codegen support. Included is also support for new Objective-C container subscripting. My apologies for the large patch. It was very difficult to break apart. The patch introduces changes to the driver as well to cause clang to link in additional runtime support when needed to support the new language features. generated block literal for lambdas which are immediately converted to block pointer type. This simplifies the AST, avoids an unnecessary copy of the lambda and makes it much easier to avoid copying the result onto the heap. Note that this transformation has a substantial semantic effect outside of ARC: it gives the converted lambda lifetime semantics similar to a block literal.
